She strives to provide a safe, supportive, and collaborative environment where young people feel heard, respected, and empowered. Prior to becoming a psychologist, Joanna worked as a high school science teacher in inner Sydney before moving to regional NSW with her family. Joanna uses evidence-based therapies, including, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Trauma-Focused CBT (TB-CBT), and Interpersonal Therapy (IPT). Interventions are tailored to the individual needs of each young person, always focusing on their strengths and goals. Joanna is an active committee member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS) and is also a registered teacher. She holds a current Working with Children Check and is a mandatory reporter. Joanna welcomes clients with Mental Health Care Plans and Open Arms funding.
